The top selling business books usually have something about leadership, something about strategy, and something about time. Most of these titles talk about 'time management' but in the last decade, the state of the art has moved away from traditional lists, priorities, and schedules to strategies that take into account a person's strengths and weaknesses, personality, behavioral styles, and cultural heritage.
Classic "Time Management" strategies do not work any more.
If we are in leadership, management, or knowledge work, we have over 400 outstanding issues (on average) running around in our heads, according to David Allen. Allen calls these issues "open loops," which leech our energy and come to the forefront of our mind at the worst times: when we can't do anything about them.
